Chapter Info FAQs
How do I become a member of the Project Management Institute Southern Alberta Chapter (PMI-SAC)?
Congratulations on your decision to join one the most active and vibrant Chapters in North America! Before you can become a PMI-SAC member, you must be a PMI member. You can add your PMI-SAC membership to your PMI membership when you first join PMI, when you renew your annual PMI membership, or by:
- Logging into your PMI member’s account at any time
- Navigating through the list of Chapters until you locate the PMI-SAC chapter
- Selecting Join
My e-mail address has changed. Who do I notify?
PMI-SAC does not maintain our own list of Chapter member contact details. Instead, we rely on the information you provide to PMI International. The process to update this information is simple.
- Log into your PMI member’s account
- Update your out of date personal information
- At the end of the month, PMI-SAC will automatically receive your updates in the report we receive from PMI International
How do I receive updates from the Chapter on upcoming events?
PMI-SAC Chapter members are automatically added to our mailing list of members receiving regular e-mails and event notifications from the Chapter. If you are not a Chapter member, why not consider joining? The fee is nominal and the member savings quickly outweigh the cost of joining.
Alternatively you can join our Linked In group and receive updates on some of the activities going on in our community.
How do I let someone know that I’d like to volunteer to work on a project with the Chapter?
Send an e-mail to the VP Administration to express your interest. If there is a unique set of skills or a specific position you’re interested in, let this VP know so they will be in a better position to match you with a volunteer position you will enjoy.
I’d like to run for a Board position. What are the first steps?
Review the various Board positions available to determine which one best suits you and your skills. Contact either the Chapter President or the person currently holding the position you’re interested in and let them know. You can shadow any of the Board positions for a period of time to confirm this is how you’d like to contribute to the Chapter.
When are Board elections and how do nominations work?
Refer to the Nominations and Elections section of this website for further information.
