Paul Ekberg

Biography

Paul is a results-oriented Project Planning Specialist with a proven track record of 17 years in successfully delivering complex projects across diverse sectors, including mining, commercial and industrial construction, power generation, heavy oil, pipelines, refining/upgrading, and gas/liquids processing.

His expertise lies in the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules that encompass engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. Paul is particularly adept at resource loading for progress measurement and risk analysis, ensuring projects stay on track and within budget.

Paul’s educational background in Industrial Systems Engineering from the University of Regina provides him with an enhanced ability to effectively communicate with both technical and construction personnel. He facilitates collaborative planning sessions, fostering project team buy-in and alignment with the overall schedule.

In his two years at Teck, Paul has demonstrated his value, initially by contributing to the Water Program for steel-making coal mines in the Elk Valley and currently leading the planning efforts for the new Administration and Maintenance Complex project at the Elkview mine. He is passionate about advancing Teck’s project management practices through the integration of cost and schedule at the program level and the application of forensic schedule analysis to contractor schedules.
